2009 AZLA Conference Report
AZLA hosted 155 attendees over the 2-day conference, Oct 2-3, with 42 presenters and 10 exhibitors. Featured speaker was Cindy Kendall. The following languages were represented: Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Chinese/Mandarin, Vietnamese, Navajo, Portuguese, and Russian.

Comments from participants included:
Excellent conference! There were so many good presentations that I couldn’t attend.
The presenter was the best I’ve ever seen at an AZLA conference.
I would have liked to attend more workshops, but also wanted to see the presenter.  We all need to make choices, so I don’t know how you could coordinate the guest speaker with the workshops so we can attend more workshops.  The presenters work hard on the workshops and I hate to see zero attendance at anyone’s workshop.
Thank you for all of your efforts in organizing a beneficial conference.  I always take away something helpful.  Would like to see more vendors.  Would love to talk to reps from the local cultural organizations, folkloric dance and music companies, the Mexican Consulate (they have an awesome free book program,) more artisans like those represented at Mr. Barabé’s table, more vendors like those exhibiting at the SWCOLT conference the last time it was in Phoenix.
I wish there were a greater variety of vendors – especially for those of us who can’t buy books etc. I’d love to brainstorm ways to improve attendance.
